In addition to traditional injection moulding, we have the possibility of producing pieces with the GAIM technique.
GAIM stands for Gas Assisted Injection Moulding.
This technology consists of the co-injection of pure nitrogen into the plastic material which allows the piece to become empty thus achieving extremely resistant and light items.
This is due to the fact that the plastic is on the outside of the piece while the inside is empty (space occupied by the gas) and comes with the following advantages:
- better aesthetic appearance without shrinkage;
- dimensional stability, compaction and planarity at the highest level;
- faster moulding cycles thanks to the reduced thickness of the plastic material to be cooled;
- material savings and lighter products;
- use of presses with tonnages lower than traditional moulding;
- energy savings of 20-30% for each cycle.
Mastery of the technique allows to avoid the formation of gas bubbles
inside the plastic structure (which would irreparably damage the
aesthetics). We also offer advice on mould design.
